The Colony is wrapping up the summer with some cool and exciting events taking place this month.

Monday Night Beer Fun

Yaymaker

Growler USA is partnering with Yaymaker and hosting Monday Night Beer Fun on, August 5 at 7:00 PM. Enjoy tons of beer options while creating your very own beer garden. Make sure you purchase your tickets before you get there, so you don’t miss out.

Nintendo Game Truck

Saturday, August 10 from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, head out to Nebraska Furniture Mart and experience a variety of video games in the parking lot in the Nintendo game truck. Players must be 6 years and older to participate in this free event.

Ashton Grande Taste of Excellence

Cigars International

One of The Colony’s new attractions Cigars International is hosting Ashton Grande Taste of excellence, Saturday, August 10 from 12:00 PM – 11:30 PM. There will be exclusive all day deals, cigars, spirits, and food.

North Texas Margarita Festival

Margarita Festival

The North Texas Margarita Festival is coming to Lava Cantina on Saturday, August 10 from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Come be a part of the Tequila culture and enjoy some of the best margaritas in North Texas along with a live DJ and street tacos. Whether you just want to hang out or sample and be a judge, make sure to get your tickets!

Texas Flood

Texas Flood

Head on over to Shakertins for a high energy happy hour with the return of the band Texas Flood. This live show will be happening Wednesday, August 14 from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Craft Beer For Kitties

Thirsty Growler

Thursday, August 15 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM head over to the Thirsty Growler for Craft Beer for Kitties with 903 Brewers. This event helps DFW Purebred and Domestic Cat Rescue supply litter and food for kitties. There’s a cool pint glass involved, with a donation or purchase.

MJ Live

Lava Cantina

MJ Live – Las Vegas’ number one tribute to Michael Jackson is coming to Lava Cantina Friday, August 23 at 8:00 PM. This is a concert experience you don’t want to miss. Come jam to the biggest hits in music history. Hurry and purchase your tickets, this one is sure to sell out fast!

Rock & Brews

Counterfeit Radio is coming to Rock & Brews in The Colony. Sample some Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired menu items and listen to your favorite hits on Saturday, August 24 from 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM.

 Weekly Events

Mondays

  • Start the week off with disc golf at Bill Allen Memorial Park, hosted by Chain Bombers. Play begins at 6:00 PM with optional buy-in and professional and amateur divisions.
  • Start the week off on the right track at The Thirsty Growler. BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) or simply enjoy some tunes while sipping on a craft beer from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
  • Test your knowledge at Live Trivia Nite, hosted by Heritage Pizza at 7:00 PM. Enjoy a signature pie or craft pint as you play along to win prizes.

Tuesdays

  • Put your knowledge to the test and win some incredible prizes at Urban8 Food Court. Participate in Pub Poll trivia with friends from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
  • Pick up a Tasting Tuesdays passport at The Shacks at Austin Ranch and sample your way through five unique restaurants. Try everything from tacos, wings, shrimp, craft beer, and more from 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM.
  • Kids eat free on Family Board Game Nite! Simply bring a board game to play at Heritage Pizza and their dinner is on the house from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Wednesdays

  • Relax midweek and sip on a glass of fine wine at Arno Italia. Enjoy half-off pizzas and select wine by the bottle for $30 all day long
  • Mingle and connect with female business leaders at Working Women Wednesday hosted by Growler USA. Make connections while enjoying nightly food and drink specials from their scratch kitchen from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  
  • Grab your gal pals and Stand Up & Paint! Learn to paint step-by-step in the name of charity. No experience necessary, just sign up online to secure your spot at Urban8 Food Court at 6:30 PM!
  • Test your knowledge at Grrrowler’s Tap Room & Beer Garden with Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night at 8:00 PM. While you’re there, be sure to try one of the 25 local and seasonal brews on tap.
  • Listen to your favorite songs at Urban8 Food Court during Singo, the musical bingo. Don’t miss your chance to win awesome prizes from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Thursdays

  • Enjoy the happiest of hours at The Thirsty Growler. Specials include: $3-glass, $5-32 oz. growler fill, or $8-64 oz. growler fill of featured brews from 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM.
  • Get out on the water any Thursday night with Sunset Paddle Tours hosted by DFW Surf at Hidden Cove Park. Enjoy a guided tour, sunset views, and plenty of photo ops beginning at 7:00 PM.
  • Sing your heart out at Karaoke Night every Thursday at Urban8 Food Court. Bring your friends and take the stage from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

Fridays

  • Be a part of the show, request your favorite songs, and sing along at Urban8 Food Court. Catch dueling piano performances from 9:30 PM – 12:30 AM. While you are there grab drinks and late night bites from any of their eight restaurants.
  • Support local musicians and experience Shacks Soundtracks at The Shacks at Austin Ranch. Enjoy delicious food from six restaurants and live performances from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
  • Find adventure and the best sunsets in North Texas at Paddle & A Pint hosted by DFW Surf. The guided tour begins at Hidden Cove Park at 7:30 PM and ends with a glow party on the water. 
  • Kick off your weekend with Friday Nights at Shakertins. The party goes all night long with DJ Rick Alva spinning tracks from 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM.

Saturdays

  • Catch a FREE movie screening at Lava Cantina during their Kid’s Movie Saturdays series. Enjoy a family-friendly film complete with arts and crafts for the kids, as well as lunch options for the whole family.
  • Meet up with friends for Indoor Open Play at Blue Sky Sports Center. For only $5 per player, practice your soccer skills from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
  • Relax on the floating deck at Rockin’ S Bar & Grill with a cold drink and awesome tunes. Catch live band performances from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
  • Grab some famous Texas-style barbecue with a side of live music at Hard Eight BBQ, featured on Cooking Channel’s Man Fire Food. Patio performances begin at 7:00 PM, just in time from dinner and a show. 
  • Feel transported to the tropical shores of Havana at The Latin Pig with Cuban music and dancing every Saturday from 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM.

Sundays

  • Get out on the water any Sunday night with Sunset Paddle Tours hosted by DFW Surf at Hidden Cove Park. Enjoy a guided tour, sunset views, and plenty of photo ops beginning at 7:00 PM.
  • Unwind every Sunday with a jazz brunch at Lava Cantina. Enjoy the Bloody Mary bar, bottomless mimosas, and brunch menu offerings beginning at 10:00 AM, with music from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
