Explore Nature Trails

Tribute Shoreline Trail

The Colony is home to multiple outdoor trails perfect for hiking or cycling.

Shoreline Trail features a 10-foot wide, 3.5-mile long trail. The surface is composed of stamped concrete and decomposed granite and runs along the beautiful shores of Lewisville Lake. Benches along the trail allow you to pause and take in the stunning natural scenery full of native flora, and fauna. Learn more about the area’s history and wildlife with interpretive signage along the trail. The Shoreline trailheads offer free parking and bike repair stations for your convenience.

The Tribute Shoreline Trail consists of a 10-foot wide, 3.11-mile long environmentally conscience surface. The trail materials and routes were carefully selected to minimize the impact on the surrounding natural environment, protecting large trees and the designated Wildlife Habitat area. Enjoy educational signage which highlights cultural and native features of the lake and land. The Tribute Shoreline Trail also offers a trailhead with free parking, bike repair stations, restrooms, benches, picnic tables, and trash/ recycling receptacles.

The Colony Five Star Hike & Bike Trail spans the perimeter of the 80-acre state-of-the-art sports facility, creating a 1.3-mile loop. The trail features five QR F.I.T. stations designed to further enhance your physical fitness experience. Simply scan a QR code, found at stations around the trail, with a QR code reader on your mobile device. Links to videos will appear, providing examples of different exercises which can be performed in conjunction with your walk/run.

The ongoing Park Loop project will link eleven parks and six schools once completed. Cyclists can ride safely through the city, making their way through Slay Baker Park and continuing up to North Colony Boulevard. Enjoy a plethora of scenic views and historical landmarks whether on foot or by bike.

Catch Some Air

Wheel Zone Bike and Skate Park

Try out a different set of wheels at The Colony Wheel Zone Bike & Skate Park. This newly renovated park allows skates, skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes to navigate urban terrain. Post-renovation, the park doubled in size and now features custom concrete terrain based on design input from the local skaters, bikers, and scooter-ers. The various ramps, platforms, grinding rails, and benches satisfy thrill seekers of all ages. Check out the Wheel Zone from dusk to dawn free of charge.

Perfect Your Golf Swing

The Tribute Clubhouse

Whether you are an avid golfer or new to the game, you will be impressed by our award-winning lakeside courses.

Old American Golf Club, home to the only LPGA Tour event in Texas, allows you to play like a pro. We recommend this challenging course to players who want to experience the VIP treatment. Every golfer at Old American receives complimentary cart rentals, access to practice grounds, and on-course comfort stations filled with drinks and snacks.

Reminiscent of Scotland, The Tribute Golf Links pay homage to the legendary courses of a simpler time. The links are complete with wind-swept dunes, sea-washed grasses, and waterfront views. Your golf game (and vacation) will benefit from an array of upscale amenities, from the majestic clubhouse to suburb dining  – all available to the public.

When time only allows for a 9-hole game, Stewart Peninsula Golf Course is the local favorite. Enjoy a spectacular round right on the water, reminiscent of golf on California’s Monterey Peninsula. The course is great for perfecting your accuracy with challenging bunkers and water hazards requiring forced carries.

They host weekly rides and training opportunities in addition to being the one-stop-shop for equipment.  When you are ready to tackle a race, sign up for the Luck of the Irish Triathalon & 5K  or Take on the Heat Triathlon and Run-Bike-Run at Lewisville ISD Eastside Aquatic Center.
