Amenities

Stewart Creek Park boasts a wealth of amenities for visitors to enjoy. In addition to creature comforts like picnic tables, restrooms, and plenty of parking, the park offers everything you need for a day at the lake. Prepare meals on barbeque grills located near picnic tables, and keep the whole family entertained with a sand volleyball court and two playground areas. When it’s time to get in the water, head to the swimming beach and its sandy shores to cool off. Daily admission to the park is only $15 with discounts for residents and annual permits available.
Boating

Lewisville Lake encompasses more than 29,000 acres for boating and watercraft adventures. Access this expansive lake from Stewart Creek Park’s three-lane boat ramp and convenient courtesy dock during park hours. Stewart Creek Park has partnered with Paddle EZ to offer kayak and paddleboard rentals year-round. You can reserve your rental from their website, or see what’s available when you arrive. Before you launch, remember to wear a life jacket. If you forgot to pack your own, ask the gate attendant about the park’s complimentary life jacket rental program.
Fishing

Lewisville Lake is home to a variety of fish including largemouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, white crappie, and catfish. In Texas, fishing can be enjoyed year-round. The park’s new 3,000 square foot fishing pier offers an open air space for 150 people with both covered and uncovered extensions over the water. With a valid permit, most fish caught in the freshwater lake can be bagged. Check state-wide bag and length limits as well as local regulations before casting a line. If you forget or can’t pack your own rod and reel, check out fishing rods and tackle for free with The Colony Public Library’s program, in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Hiking

In The Colony, it is easy to escape the busy city and immerse yourself in nature. The Shoreline Trail provides exceptional hiking opportunities to park visitors with 3.5 miles of oversized environmentally sensitive trail along the water’s edge. Benches and rustic bridges along the trail allow hikers to enjoy the beautiful scenery and native wildlife. Learn more about the flora, fauna and area history with the help of interpretive signage along the trail. For safety, multiple emergency access points are available along the trail and can be located on the trail map. Access to the Shoreline Trail is complimentary with additional free parking available just outside the entrance of Stewart Creek Park (3700 Sparks Road).
RV & Tent Camping

Stay the night with tent and RV campsites. Campers are welcome to stay for up to two weeks. Both RV and tent campsites are available year-round, except when special events are held at the park. Reservations can be made in advance for any of the five pull-through RV sites equipped with 50 amp hookups and water. RV reservations include entrance fees for two vehicles. Tent camping is available by reservation in advance of arrival. Each campsite can host one car, eight campers, and up to two tents.
Picnic Pavilion

Stewart Creek Park offers multiple picnic areas along the waterfront for individuals or small groups to enjoy. If you’re looking to host an event at the park, a larger pavilion is available for rent. This picnic pavilion is ideal for birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events. Daily reservations allow groups to relax by the lake anytime from 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM. The pavilion itself is approximately 60′ X 40′ and houses eight picnic tables. The surrounding green space features grills for your convenience and provides the perfect spot for a game of cornhole.
If your next event requires an overnight stay, enjoy modern accommodations within five miles of the park. Multiple hotels offer a comfortable retreat for guests, in lieu of camping. For a full list of local accommodations, please visit our website.
