Liberty 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run
Start the day off bright and early with the tradition of racing in celebration of America’s Independence. From 6:00 AM to noon, join in the Liberty 5K, 10K and Mile Fun Run at Stewart Creek Park. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the family-friendly trail race overlooking the shores of Lewisville Lake. Registration is open through race morning on Saturday, July 1.
Independence Day Parade
Celebrate the best of Texas at the Independence Day Parade. Stick with the theme of Texas Legends by dressing as your favorite Texas icon, including people, teams, foods and more! The parade route starts at Peters Colony Elementary at 10:00 AM and concludes at The Colony Five Star Complex around noon. If you would like to participate in the parade, click here to register.
Rockin’ Live Music
Nothing beats hanging out on the lawn while listening to chart-topping hits. Every year, Liberty By The Lake features local artists and performers for a day of entertainment. Pack a blanket or lawn chair and rock out to The Middlemen while you enjoy family fun like the Watermelon Eating Contest and Freedom Business Expo. Then bring the house down with Le Freak all evening long. Enjoy free parking and admission to the City’s signature Independence Day Festival on Saturday, July 1 at The Colony Five Star Complex.
Dazzling Firework Finale
No Fourth of July celebration is complete without a booming fireworks display. Liberty By The Lake boasts one of the best fireworks shows north of Dallas. While the fireworks light up the night sky across town, the best place to view the show is at The Colony Five Star Complex beginning at 9:30 PM. This bold end to an incredible weekend consists of colorful displays choreographed to patriotic music that can’t be missed.
